Emerge Yoga Group Classes

Emerge Yoga is a unique practice that blends traditional yoga with the wisdom from various healing modalities (bodywork, energetics & coaching), bringing to life the teachings of yoga in a modern and applicable way! Our mission is to provide a safe space for self-discovery & expression, and every mat class aims to support that experience. Physical postures are intelligently sequenced to build upon basic variations and move mindfully into deeper expressions. Furthermore, we understand that optimal alignment may look different for each individual and thus guide students to discover how each pose can support stability, safety, and integrity for their unique shape. Finally, “dharma talk” and intent, are threaded through each class and will bridge the experience into everyday life. In every Emerge Yoga Class, our instructors will support you to take a proactive role in your own growth & evolution, embarking on a journey to create an inspired life!
 

 

Move + Meditate: Vinyasa + Meditation

 
Move your Body | Quiet Your Mind. This class, as the name implies, is a mashup of creative movement and mindful contemplation, sweating away the stresses of the day & preparing the body to release into bliss. Every session begins with a “dharma talk” or central theme that is threaded throughout an intelligently sequenced vinyasa (movement guided by breath), leading to seated meditation & savasana (final relaxation).   
 
Level: Open Level (builds on postures from the most basic foundation, accommodating beginners while simultaneously providing deeper & challenging variations for more continuing students)
 


 

Sweat ✷ Surrender: Vinyasa Flow + Yoga Nidra

 
Sweat Out Stress | Surrender into Bliss.  This class is perfect for the Type A yogi(ni), who is constantly on the go and is looking for a place to actively unwind. By combining the energy and heat of a vinyasa flow practice with the deep therapeutic release of of yoga nidra and/or extended guided savasana, even the most upbeat individual will sweetly surrender into stillness.  Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation from savasana that is known to release stress, increase resiliency, and promote a sense of well-being and ease in body, mind and spirit.

Strength & Serenity: Strength Building Asana & Pranayama

 
This class offers a dynamic practice with deep emphasis on intentioned breath work, the core through abdominal sequences, and longer held postures. Working towards optimal alignment in each pose provides an opportunity to build endurance & muscular stability while also enhancing the benefits of each stretch.  By focusing on structure in the body, we develop an internal focus that calms the mind.  This cultivation of strength & serenity causes a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life.

R&R | Release & Restore: Yin + Restorative

 
This class balances the deep therapeutic release of yin yoga with the support and ease provided by restorative postures.  The repetitive stresses of everyday life are constantly stored in our body’s connective tissue or fascia.  Over time, this can lead to chronic pain.  In yin yoga, postures are held for an extended period of time, propped up for support, in order to release tension from the fascia.  Then during restorative, blankets in bolsters create the foundation for your body & mind to relax.  It’s from this space that we begin to integrate the benefits of our physical practice, leading to complete physical, mental & emotional restoration.

Engage: Emerge Yoga Fundamentals

 
Engage is the class to both learn and/or refine the fundamentals of yoga asana (poses). Combining a slow & intelligently sequenced vinyasa with focus on props and modifications, this session supports you in reaching optimal alignment and safety in postures. Creating a strong foundation, with a few optional variations, Engage is an excellent place for any yoga newbie to learn the basics and feel comfortable in class, as well as an opportunity for the more practiced yogi(ni) to refine their practice with alignment & grace!
 
Level: Yoga Newbies, Pre|Post-Natal, or anyone looking for a slow + refined class
 
 


 

Bend into Bliss: Slow Flow & Restorative

 
This class is a perfect way to start or end your week with gentle flow, sweet stretches & restorative yoga. Gentle vinyasa allows you to stretch out sticky spots & focus the mind, while restorative cradles you in blankets, bolsters & props to completely release & relax. By connecting to your body & breath in a mindful + supportive way, this session allows the yogi(ni) on the go to slow down, ground & ultimately unwind any stress or tension keeping them from pure bliss!

Sit N’ Stretch: Chair Yoga

 
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. Frequently the chair yoga student is unable to participate in a traditional yoga class due to the effects of aging or disabilities. However, Chair yoga is a great practice for everyone, as it deepens flexibility and strengthens personal body awareness.
